Ken Christiaens
Master in Audiovisual Arts (film), RITCS.
Post-graduate Soundengineering/Music Production, Utrecht.
Founder Icon-Brussels, AV-artist, teacher.
Ken is a Belgian art educator, music/sounddesigner and audio/visual engineer, working mainly in Brussels. After graduation as a director at the RITCS-filmschool, he mainly pushed his carreer as a sounddesigner/composer/AV-engineer for some reknowned (post)production facilities like Studio Moliere and Vidisquare, working on films, publicity and technical installations. In recent years, he shifted interest more towards coaching/teaching film & sound to children and developing artistic/technological concepts. In april 2015, he founded Icon-Brussels, an education- and research centre focussing on the intersection between art and contemporary technology.

Pieter is a passionate new media educator specializing in interactive systems. Working together with people, sharing his knowledge and expertise while learning from others is what drives him. He’s also an electronic music composer and performer, making compositions ranging from experimental soundscapes to EDM.

Brecht Debackere

Brecht is a Belgian artist and filmmaker, living and working in Brussels. In his work he seeks to explore the tension between physical, representational and virtual space and tries to uncover the intrinsic characteristics of virtual space. He worked as researcher within the European project ‘2020 3D media’ and is co-founder of the Brussels based production company Visualantics.

Hugo Herter

Hugo has set himself the goal to make technology more approachable for everybody. While he was studying bio-informatics and AI, he spent his weekends and holidays having fun teaching science and technology to kids, teenagers and adults. He now works as a software engineer on connecting locomotives to the Internet, but that didn’t stop him from helping people sharing his joy of playing with programming, electronics, robotics and interactive installations.

Bart Moens

Bart is a programmer who writes interactive software for high-end theatre, music and video installations. He is co-founder of the company Hangaar.net; making interactive installations and video with a strong visual-esthetic feel. Specialized in openFrameworks and sensors such as the Kinect. The future focus lies mostly on building interactive installations and theatre visuals.

Lucas started coding and automating at an early age, learning what he could by reading tons of books and online tutorials.
He started his own company in Brussels, dealing mainly with coding: developing websites, software, home automation systems, renewable energy technologies, drones and robotics. His main research focusses on new technologies, revolutionizing the ‘web experience’. He aims to integrate them into all personal aspects of his and others’ lives.

graphic and web design, photographers, web developers and 3Dimage creators. After few years of experience as an entrepreneur, she specialized in the field of Creative Marketing & Creative Management.

Pascal Oorts
Pascal Oorts is an autodidact, musician and a musical multitasker. He started his career with the rekwowned Belgian rockband Mintzkov, playing keyboards and releasing several albums. Meanwhile, he’s also a ‘full time dance floor destroyer’ at electronic duo Part Time Punks, music producer and occasional teacher.

Fabien Benetou

Software Engineer
Fabien Benetou is a WebVR developer with an appetite for new technologies and the creative and academic processes involved in the developmental stage of these emerging techniques. He has been hosting numerous high-tech events, particularly aiming to re-appropriate and integrate these advanced technologies in a diverse field of applications. In recent years, he has been exploring the concepts of Virtual Reality (VR), researching its effectiveness in prototyping- and proof of concept-tooling to speed up the experimental phase in R&D processes. He is an active Mozilla contributor.

Karel De Cock

Karel De Cock works and lives in Brussels as film editor and visual artist. He started his career as a graphic designer but is now working in film. His own work focusses on public spaces in large cities and has an observational approach. His credits on other films include: Shadow World (2016, Johan Grimonprez), Our City (2015, Maria Tarantino), The Dark Galleries (2014, Nicolas Provost), Sculptures in Film (2016, Steven Jacobs), Incidents in the Museum (2014 Steven Jacobs).

Abel is a Brazilian artist with a specialization in visual and sound arts. He began his artistic career as a musician and has more than ten years of experience in Art and Technology, working for six years at the Electronic Music Center (CME/UFRGS – Brazil) in researching about Soundscape Composition and Experimental Electronic Music. He is focused on Art and Technology and Interactive Art, and nowadays works as Virtual Reality Developer at the company Yondr.
